# Section Cut

Cuts an object with a Plane to allow you to see the inside of the object.

* Select a block and press 'X' to open section cut mode.
* Section cut works on all model types, except for Voxel Grids.
* Precise Render and Image Capture don't capture section cut views. To save an image of a section cut body, use Boolean Subtract and a Plane to cut the object, creating an Implicit body that is section cut.

## Settings

**Mode**:

* Global: Cuts through all visible objects.
* Selection: Cuts through the selected object.

**Object**: Choose Selection and double click in the Object input to choose the object.

**Center**: The Center of the plane. Adjust the values or use the gimbal to change the center value.

**Normal**: Adjust plane normal to change its orientation.

**Flip Normal**: Flips the cutting plane normal, so the opposite side is cut instead.

**Display Style**:

* Outline: Shows a thick outline for cut objects.
* Shaded: Shows a shaded body for cut objects.

**Show Volume Mesh Elements**: Toggles the inner mesh elements of a volume mesh on or off.

**Close**: Closes the section cut mode.
