# Applied Temperature Load

## About this Block

**What it does:** A boundary condition that applies a temperature load to a thermal stress analysis.

**Common uses:**

* A boundary condition in a thermal stress analysis.

**Tips:**

* We recommend running a **Thermal Analysis** first, then using the temperature property from that analysis as the input for the **Applied Temperature Load**.
* Use it with an **Initial Temperature** boundary condition.
* The thermal stress is calculated from the difference between the initial temperature and the applied temperature.

***

Defines the applied temperature load to be used in a thermal stress analysis. Thermal stress will be calculated from the difference between the initial temperature and the applied temperature load.
