# Isotropic Linear Elastic Property

## About this Block

**What it does:** Assigns the Young's Modulus and Poisson's ratio to an **Isotropic Material**.

**Common uses:**

* An input in defining an **Isotropic Material**.

**Tips:**

* Create spatially varying properties by using Scalar Fields as inputs.

Defines an Isotropic Linear Elastic Property by specifying Young’s modulus and Poisson’s ratio. Providing scalar fields as inputs will result in spatially varying material properties.
