# Rigid Motion Error

## The model was found to have rigid motion. Please check for proper restraints

### About the error

**Issue:**
Occurs when there is no displacement restraint set up or if the problem setup is wrong.

**Applies to:**

* Static Analysis
* Buckling Analysis
* Modal Analysis
* Topology Optimization

**Cause:**

* The displacement restraints are not defined or are over defined.

**Solution:**

* Isolate the Displacement restraints to check if they have been set up correctly and run the simulation again.
