# Can I turn mass properties into variables?

Can I turn mass properties into variables? Like volume or center of gravity?

* Mass Properties block

## Answer:

Yes, you can extract the properties chips from the **Mass Properties** block and turn them into variables. To do this, run the block and open up the Properties panel. Drag whichever property chip you need into the Notebook.
