# How to calculate surface area

## Objective:

How to calculate the surface area of your implicit body?

How to calculate the surface area of your mesh?

How to calculate the surface area of a profile?

## Applies to:

* Surface Area

## Procedure:

**1.** Start with the geometry you want to calculate.

**2.** Add a **Surface Area** block.

* * Drag and drop an implicit body, mesh, or profile, into the Body input field
    * Look at the calculated area in the top right of the block. This value is the surface area.

And that's it! You've successfully calculated the surface area of your geometry.
