# Can I build a lattice from the edges of a part?

## Question:

Can I build a lattice on the edges of a part?

I have an existing lattice and I want to connect it by creating beams from the edges of the part it is created from.

## Answer:

To build a lattice from the edges of a part, use the **Lattice from Surface Mesh** block and choose the **Mesh Edges** setting in the Method input. This setting creates lattice beams from the edges of the part.
