# Can I create Periodic Lattices using hexagonal or triangular packing?

Can I create Periodic Lattices using hexagonal or triangular packing?

## Answer:

Currently, our Periodic Lattices are built using cube packing. You can get triangular lattices by using some of the lattices from mesh blocks, such as **Lattice from Surface Mesh**. You can also use **Voronoi Surface Lattice** to create lattices that will have a slightly hexagonal shape. These two methods use the underlying mesh to create the lattice, so the shape of the lattice may vary depending on the mesh.
