# How do I add Gravity as a load case?

## Question:

How do I add Gravity as a load case?

## Applies to:

* Simulation
* Optimization

## Answer:

You can apply a gravity load case by using the **Acceleration Load** block. You can control the direction using the **Vector Field from Components** block.

![The image shows an example for setting up Gravity in an nTop notebook to be used in simulation. The FE Region by Body block defines the region that Gravity is being applied to. The Acceleration Load block applies the defined Vector Field to the FE Region.](https://files.learn.ntop.com/help-articles/optimization/43386813354259.png)
