# Periodic Fields

Periodic Fields can also be used to generate textures. The **Diamond Field** generates a striped pattern, while the **Schwarz Field** creates polka dots. You can find these in the Fields tab of the Ribbon.

Below are some great examples of workflows that can be packaged into custom blocks to create your library of textures. Opening each block will allow you to understand the workings of these procedural techniques better.

You can open the files to see how it is built or import it into your nTop notebook to apply the Texture.
