Issue

Users encounter a login failure in nTop with the following error message:

User/host not on INCLUDE list for feature.Feature: ntop_fullFlexNet Licensing error:-39,147

Cause

This error occurs when the license server is using a FlexNet Options File (.opt) to manage access. The administrator has restricted the ntop_full feature to a specific list of authorized users or hosts using the INCLUDE keyword. If your specific username or machine name is not explicitly listed on this list, the server will deny the checkout request, even if seats are available.

Solution

To resolve this, the License Administrator must update the Options File on the license server.

Steps for the Administrator:

  1. Locate the FlexNet Options File (typically a .opt file located in the same directory as the license manager).
  2. Identify the line restricting the ntop_full feature.
  3. Add the user to the INCLUDE list using the following syntax:
INCLUDE ntop_full USER [UserName]Note: [UserName] is case-sensitive and must match the login name of the user’s workstation.
  1. Reread the license file via the LMTOOLS (or your license management utility) to apply the changes without restarting the server.

Need Further Assistance?

If the user is still unable to log in after being added to the INCLUDE List, please verify that the HostID or Group settings in the Options file do not have a conflicting EXCLUDE statement. For further technical support, please contact your nTop Support.
