An FE Component requires an FE Attribute block and an FE Mesh. To review the process for creating an FE Mesh, check out our FE Mesh lesson in the 102: Guide to Meshing course. FE Attributes: There are four types of Attributes that can be chosen: FE Solid, FE Beam, FE Point, and FE Shell. These attributes define the material, thickness, frame, and region in which it occurs. Each type allows different elements to be chosen. In this course, we will only use the FE Solid, which uses the FE Mesh options discussed in the 102: Guide to Meshing course. To learn more about the FE Beam, FE Point, and FE Shell attributes, visit our 342: Lattice FEA course.
In the next lesson, we will discuss the different material options you can place in the FE Attribute.
