Question:

How do you loft between profiles? Why doesn’t my loft have a smooth transition? It isn’t lofting as I expected it to.
Note:The older Loft between Profile blocks did not produce smooth results because it used the Section Body block as the input. We have since updated the Regular Polygon block to output Profile instead of Polygon type, which enables you to use Profile properties directly.

Answer:

We recommend you use the Mix block to loft between two profiles and intersect it with two planes in which the Profiles are located. A Profile is a set of coplanar curves. It has two field properties: the first is the Signed Distance field to the infinite extrusion relative to the profile’s plane and the second is the unsigned distance field to the enclosed region. A gif showing how the field transitions from a square to a hexagon across a defined distance. The field was generated using the Mix method for lofting profiles. The resulting implicit body generated from using the Mix method of lofting profiles.
