Question:

How are the loads distributed for bearing force?

Applies to:

  • Bearing Force

Answer:

Bearing Force uses the sinusoidal distribution method. The sum of all the forces applied on each face equals the magnitude of the defined force vector. So the force application is radial, which is approximately normal to a mesh of a cylinder. A Force diagram showing how bearing force is distributed on a cylinder's wall.
